The Brooklin Merchants defeated the Six Nations Rivermen 11-3 last night to win their best two of three Ontario final series two games to none. Ontario Series Lacrosse Commissioner Joe Hiltz handed the Clare Levack Trophy to team captain Devin Pipher who accepted it on behalf of the organization. They celebrated their third Ontario championship in team history (2000 and 2016) on the floor at Iroquois Park Sports Centre last night alongside family, friends, and fans. Last night’s score was identical to that in game one. The win brings them one step closer to their ultimate goal of being crowned Presidents Cup champions in their 25th year in existence.

The Brooklin Merchants set out on a journey at the beginning of the season to celebrate their 25th anniversary in style. The coaching staff of Ryan Degerdon and Mark Debrone have been consistent in their messaging that each game should be seen as a step to the next goal. They wanted first place in the league for home floor advantage in the playoffs, that was achieved. They aim to win the Clare Levack Trophy as Ontario Sr B champions, last night’s 11-3 win over the Six Nations Rivermen in a best two of three final moved them closer to that goal. Finally, as hosts of the 2025 Presidents Cup they plan to come out on top of the eight-team tournament that runs August 23-30 at Iroquois Park Sports Centre.

Next up for the Merchants is a date with either Six Nations or Hamilton for the right to hoist the Clare Levack Trophy as Ontario champions in Sr B lacrosse. The team has won it twice before, their inaugural season in 2000 and more recently in 2016. As a way to celebrate their 25th anniversary season, they continue to strive for success at the next level. Their first-round opponents in this year’s playoffs were the Owen Sound NorthStars who they defeated three straight, last night by a final score of 14-7. The Six Nations Rivermen staved off elimination against Hamilton with a 9-5 win to close the gap in that series to 2-1 in favour of the Bengals. Game four goes Saturday in Hamilton.

It was a successful day in Meaford for both Brooklin teams on Sunday afternoon. The Brooklin Lacrosse Club took the 12-9 win over the NorthStars in a matinee for their final regular season home game. Later on, it was the Brooklin Merchants turn to take the floor for game two of their best of five semi-final series against Owen Sound. The Merchants won game one at home 14-4 on Friday night. Sunday’s affair was much tighter as the Merchants took this one 9-7 for a 2-0 series lead.

The Owen Sound NorthStars traveled to meet the Brooklin Merchants last night in game one of their best-of-five Ontario Series Lacrosse Semi-Final series. The game started much tighter than it ended. Five Merchants scorers notched multi-goal games and the defense in front of Deacan Knott locked it down en route to a 14-4 final to take a 1-0 series lead.

The final weekend of the Brooklin Merchants 25th regular season started in Collingwood on Sunday afternoon with a 16-7 win over the Cruise. Fast forward 24 hours and they were on home floor to welcome the Owen Sound NorthStars in their regular season finale. The Merchants found a way to win 5-3 on Sunday afternoon over the team that will be their first-round playoff opponents later this week, as they clinched first place overall.

The Brooklin Merchants packed up their gear and made the trek to Collingwood on a nice mid-summer Saturday afternoon. They had a date with the Cruise in their second to last final regular season game. The Merchants came into the game with a 12-2 record while the Cruise have had a rough season and came in at 3-12. At the final buzzer, the scoreboard read 16-7 for the road team to move them to 13-2, two points ahead of the Six Nations Rivermen for first overall.

The 25th anniversary celebrations continue for the Brooklin Merchants as they added another two points to the win column last evening with an 11-4 home win over the Owen Sound NorthStars. It was the same NorthStars that handed the Merchants their first of two losses on the season in early May. The win gives the Merchants a record of 12-2 good for first overall with a pair of games remaining. The Six Nations Rivermen are four points adrift in second with three games left in their schedule.

The Brooklin Merchants started the weekend on a high after a dominating 16-1 win over the Ennismore James Gang at home on Friday night. Tonight’s game differed from Friday and can best be described as a tale of two or three games after the Brooklin Merchants dispatched the Collingwood Cruise by a final of 19-12.

The Brooklin Merchants 25th anniversary season continues to be a glowing success. Other than a loss at the start of the season and one last week to the Six Nations Rivermen they now have an incredible 10-2 record with four regular season home games remaining. The run for first overall is within sight as they register each passing win. Last night they hosted the Ennismore James Gang in a Friday night showdown. The Merchants line-up featured a couple of recent additions in Braedon Saris (five goals) and Alex Marinier (four goals) and both provided an immediate dividend in a punishing 16-1 win over the James Gang.

The Brooklin Merchants hosted the Six Nations Rivermen on Saturday afternoon as part of a double header that saw the Brooklin Lacrosse Club battle the Six Nations Chiefs later that evening. The league leading Merchants had made two trips to the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena this season and were 2-0 looking for the season sweep today. The Rivermen were determined to remind their hosts that life doesn’t always turn out as planned. The Rivermen sprinted out to a 4-1 first period lead and, despite a furious third period comeback attempt by the home side, it wouldn’t be enough as the Rivermen took this one 13-11.

The Brooklin Merchants are celebrating their 25th anniversary season. The team unveiled a new logo and was thrilled to win the right to host the Presidents Cup from August 23-30, 2025 at Iroquois Park Sports Centre. A great deal of work is taking place behind the scenes as the club strives to make the tournament, emblematic of Canadian Senior B Lacrosse supremacy, successful and memorable for all fans, families, and participants.

It’s been a great run for the Merchants as their silver anniversary season continues to shine. The team has been displaying dominant performances on their way to hosting the Presidents Cup in August. Their plan has been to go in to the tournament as Ontario champions, a goal this club set out from the first day of training camp.

Veteran goalkeeper Lukas Coote pulled out all the stops to ensure his team’s win streak continued last night at Iroquois Park Sports Centre. In the first of a home and home weekend series against the Hamilton Bengals, the Brooklin Merchants came out on top with a 9-6 win. The last time these sides met in Hamilton was May 16 when the Merchants eked out a 12-11 win. The two points from last night puts the Merchants at 8-1, good for first overall, as their 25th anniversary season continues to shine with success.

The Brooklin Merchants defeated Ennismore 22-6 at home last Friday night at IPSC. Fast forward a few days and these teams were at it again this time at the Lakefield Arena. The Merchants added another two points to their record with a 15-6 win tonight, improving to 7-1 as the mid-point of the season arrives.

The Ennismore James Gang made the trip to Iroquois Park Sports Centre tonight for a game against the Brooklin Merchants. These teams last met on May 13 in Ennismore where the Merchants came out with a close 12-10 win, having outshot their opponents 67-49. It was a much different game between these teams tonight.

The Brooklin Merchants traveled to the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena (ILA) for the second time this season. It's been worth the drive so far as each trip resulted in the all important two points to keep them atop the Ontario Lacrosse Series standings.

The Brooklin Merchants packed up their gear and made the trip to Hamilton last night for their fourth game in six days. After a stumble on the road to open the season, they recovered with three straight wins heading into last night’s contest against the Bengals.

The Brooklin Merchants started the season with a loss in Owen Sound on May 4, 2025. Since that time, they have rattled off three straight wins including tonight’s 12-10 victory over the James Gang in Ennismore. The Merchants played their third game in four nights and will be back in action on Friday May 16 with an 8 pm game in Hamilton when they tangle with the Bengals.

On a day when the Brooklin Merchants honoured mothers on their special day, they gave all fans a reason to celebrate with a convincing 13-4 win over the visiting Collingwood Cruise.

The 2025 Ontario Series Lacrosse regular season is underway. This afternoon, the Brooklin Merchants traveled to Meaford for a late-afternoon matinee against the Owen Sound NorthStars for their first game of the season.

The Brooklin Merchants of the six-team Ontario Series Lacrosse Senior B league are preparing for another exciting season. This may be a silver anniversary year for the Merchants, but their aim is gold, medal that is, at the Presidents Cup later this summer.

Brooklin Merchants players and coaches gathered at Luther Vipond Memorial Arena on Saturday afternoon for a spirited open tryout session. Good numbers and great energy as the team kicks off their 25th anniversary season.

The Merchants are having an open tryout on Saturday April 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Vipond Arena in Brooklin.

With the start of the 2024-25 Arena Lacrosse League (ALL), the defending champion Whitby Steelhawks have announced Ryan Degerdon as their new Head Coach.

It was a successful trip to Utica for Eric Perroni, his son Adam and some members of the Brooklin Lacrosse Club and the Brooklin Merchants.
